Oddly, I don’t recall a time when they weren’t at least using his agency. His desk and calendar won’t clear out by all that much.

And that’s the thing the article doesn’t really mention: That the high-rise construction projects of Dubai are closer to Auschwitz (or perhaps a bit more accurately Monowitz) than they are to similar such projects in the US and UK.

The spirit of ancient pyramid construction lives on the middle east. You think Latinos are exploited here in America? (Which inevitably they are) You ain’t seen immigrant exploitation until you see the horrific conditions the laborers are forced to bear. There’s a reason those sky-scrapers are built so quickly and cheaply.

I’ve been to Dubai fairly recently. It’s one of my least favorite places in the world. It is a bizarre never-never land, a Potemkin village of monumental proportions.
